Effective: September 5, 2026
Causolith is designed to keep project memory private and under your control. This notice describes the macOS app distributed by Sodini.io.
Data collection
Causolith does not collect personal data for Sodini.io. The app contains no advertising, analytics, cross-app tracking, telemetry, or third-party crash reporting SDK. Sodini.io does not sell or share Causolith data and does not operate an account or application-data server for the app.
Data stored on your Mac
Causolith stores project memory, evidence, settings, and local indexes on your Mac. New project corpora are stored in the project folders you explicitly choose. The app may also store app preferences and security-scoped bookmarks so it can reopen those folders with your permission.
You control the project folders and portable archives you create. Removing a project from Causolith does not silently delete unrelated project files.
iCloud and Keychain
If you use the legacy private library, Causolith can synchronize it through your private Apple CloudKit database. If you choose iCloud Keychain for your personal approval identity, Apple can synchronize that Keychain item between your devices. These features use your Apple account and Apple services; Sodini.io does not receive the synced content or your private signing key.
An optional recovery export is written only to a location you choose and is protected with passphrase-derived AES-256-GCM encryption. Causolith does not receive the export or its passphrase.
Folder access
Causolith is sandboxed. It can read or modify a project folder only after you grant access through the macOS file picker. macOS may ask you to grant access again after a folder, disk, or system configuration changes.
Optional coding-agent integrations
Causolith can expose a local Model Context Protocol server to a compatible coding-agent client that you separately install and configure. The connection is local, and Causolith does not configure or launch the external client. The client and any AI service it uses are separate products with their own privacy terms. Review that client's settings before allowing it to read or send project content. Causolith does not automatically send project content to Sodini.io or an AI provider.
Retention and deletion
Data in a selected project folder remains until you remove it from that folder. Private iCloud data remains in your Apple account until you delete it through the app or applicable Apple controls. App-local settings and indexes can be removed by deleting the app's data through macOS. Portable archives and recovery exports remain wherever you chose to save them.
Support communications
If you email support, Sodini.io receives the address and information you choose to include in that message. It is used only to respond, diagnose the reported issue, and maintain necessary support records. Do not include private project content, credentials, or signing keys in a support request.
Children
Causolith is a general developer tool and is not directed to children. Because the app does not collect personal data for Sodini.io, it does not knowingly collect personal data from children through the app.
Changes
This notice may be updated when Causolith's features or legal obligations change. The current notice and its effective date are published at Causolith privacy notice.
