Résumé

DevOps engineer with a staff software engineering background in large build systems, infrastructure automation, web proxies, policy enforcement, and developer tools. I professionally make computers schizophrenic at scale. I have an obsession with service uptime, and I will TDD with Rust, Swift, and Python until the day I die.

2026 TO PRESENT

Current work is confidential while the company is in stealth.

System Ready · Founder

2025 TO PRESENT

  • Ship apps for Mac, iPhone, and iPad across systems, productivity, and creative work.
  • Publish developer tools including vagrant-provider-avf.
  • Keep user data local and ask only for the access each app needs.

Nutanix · Staff Software Engineer, Developer Productivity

2020 TO AUGUST 2025

  • Ran infrastructure supporting more than 2,000 hosts across 35 clusters.
  • Used monitoring and automation to cut major incidents from two or three per month to one or two per year.
  • Set up Jenkins on Nomad and Consul with automatic provisioning and failover in under a minute.
  • Built a containerized Python build system with more than 90% cache reuse. A typical build dropped from about three hours to 45 minutes.

Nutanix · Senior Software Engineer

2014 TO 2020 · ENGINEERING PRODUCTIVITY, OPERATIONS, PRISM GATEWAY

  • Grew the build system from 150 to 600 builders and more than 1,500 hosts.
  • Wrote Python services that reclaimed unused hardware and saved about $2 million per year.
  • Raised unit test coverage from zero to 85% on a major API platform and cut production defects by about 60%.
  • Rewrote APIs and added concurrency and security controls for distributed systems.

Nominum · Staff Software Engineer / Senior QA Engineer

2010 TO 2014

  • Worked on the web proxy and rebuilt its policy enforcement engine with lock-free concurrency.
  • Worked on distributed DNS caching and telemetry.
  • Built provisioning systems with Java, Cassandra, and PostgreSQL.
  • Built automated test tools and helped QA engineers move into software engineering roles.

VMware · Software Quality Engineer, Hypervisor

EARLIER EXPERIENCE

  • Validated core hypervisor behavior across compute, storage, virtualization, scale, and failure scenarios.
  • Built automation and reporting systems for test coverage, defects, and release readiness.
